Verde River Ecological Values and Challenges

Eco Values and Challenges Screen ShotThis document was created by Brenda Smith, Assistant Field Supervisor for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS), for a presentation sponsored by the Verde River Basin Partnership in October, 2014.

It discusses some of the biological and resource values of the Verde River Watershed, focusing on threatened and endangered and other rare and imperiled species. The USFWS has an important role in the recovery and conservation efforts for these species, and Ms. Smith explains some of what the agency’s interest and responsibilities are in this area.
